N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a stable form of the non-essential amino acid cysteine. This sulfur-containing amino acid acts as a stabilizer for the formation of protein structures and is also necessary for the production of glutathione. Selenium, an essential trace mineral, facilitates the creation of several important enzymes.
